Current Sermon Series: Numbers

The book of Numbers records the stories and the people of Israel. Even today, we do the same thing, too. This is why we search family genealogies and have family stories we tell at family reunions. People are precious – and can, at times, be frustrating – to us. The same is true with God. How God deals with His people can help us learn how to relate to others.

Revenge: Imprecatory Psalms

As Christians, we know we are called to be forgiving people. Yet, when someone wounds us deeply, we often struggle with wanting to get revenge. In Psalm 137, the Israelites have been carried off into exile by the Babylonians. They too struggle with revenge as they gleefully envision Babylon’s destruction. How can our feelings of revenge be turned into God’s purpose of redemption?
