Church | School | Child Care Center Updates

Dear Friends,

This has been a week of rapidly changing news. What began a couple of weeks ago as a virus we were monitoring has now become a global health emergency that is shuttering businesses, schools, and public venues, and adding a host of new phrases like “social distancing” and “flattening the curve.”

Ensuring the safety of our guests, congregation, students, and staff is our number one priority at Concordia. To that end, here are the measures we have put into place:

  • We will continue to worship online together until further notice. Our weekend services are Saturday at 6 pm and Sunday at 8, 9:30, 11 am, and 5 pm. You can stream on our webpage, Concordia.cc, on our app, or on your Apple TV, Roku, or Firestick. If you have trouble streaming, you can call or text our tech help hotline at 210.462.1140. You can also email online@concordia.cc for help.

  • Our school is implementing distance learning. Please see update below in the School section.

  • Our Child Care Center is open with new times and procedures. See Child Care Center update below.

  • Because we could all use some joy at a time like this, I’d like to invite you to like “21 Days Together” on Facebook and Instagram. Each day, for 21 days, messages of hope, encouragement, prayer, and ways you can help will be posted. You can also visit www.21daystogether.com.

As this crisis continues to unfold, you have my promise that Concordia will continue to do what we are called to do - offer hope. If sin cannot overcome Christ, this virus will not overcome His people - you and me.

I’m praying for you and I love you!

God bless you,

Dear CLS Parents,

Dear CLS family,

We know that these are difficult and uncertain times. We continue to lift all of you up in prayer on a daily basis. We appreciate all your prayers on behalf of the school, faculty and staff.

As we continue to follow the direction of our church leadership team, health officials, and governmental officials, it has become evident that we need to continue distance learning through Friday, April 24. As of right now, we still don’t know when we’ll be able to safely return to campus. Please be assured, however, that we will do our best to keep all families informed of decisions as they are made.

Our beloved CLS teachers are working hard behind the scenes to provide quality instruction. We know that there have been a few bumps along the way! We also know that you, as parents, have a lot to juggle as you work from home while also taking on additional responsibilities in educating your children at home. We want you to know how deeply we appreciate your patience and your partnership!

Above all, it is our prayer that you and your loved ones remain healthy and safe. We know, as Christians, that blessings are found even in stressful situations. We trust that God has a plan for good, even out of this struggle. Please contact your child's teacher or the school administrative team via email if you have any questions.

In Christ's Love,

Updated: March 21, 4pm

We have established a plan to reopen on Monday, March 23. However, we have had to make some adjustments to ensure the safety of the children, their families, and our staff.  All Child Care Center parents should have received an email with detailed information.

Our staff members want you to know that we are doing well.  We have spent the last week cleaning and sanitizing everything, including all touch points (door handles, countertops, etc.) as well as toys and equipment.  We have reinforced our organization's illness policy so that all potentially sick employees stay home. We have undergone extensive training on additional hygiene and safety protocols.  We have also stocked up on additional supplies. Fortunately, no one that we know of has had any direct exposure to the COVID-19 virus.

We want to send a special thanks to all of you. You are in our prayers for safety, health, and peace. We understand that many families have been affected in different ways by this national emergency. The love and concern you have expressed to our staff is extraordinary, and we are grateful. We are truly blessed to be able to serve in this ministry.

We will keep you updated with additional information and any changes, as we soon as we become aware. Please be assured, we serve a loving, compassionate God who is in control of all things. Our faith is in Him.

God's blessings, comfort, and peace,
Annette Wright, Director
